I just finished reading 'The Matchmakers' by Vanessa Edwards, my first read by this author, and I loved it. (Note: it's also a great cover that reflects a major part of the story.) The novel starts with a 'suspicious romance' set up by a matchmaker. Then it follows sister Lucy, a lawyer, who becomes a sleuth, trying to piece together the evidence and information on her sister, whom she suspects was the victim of murder. Then, in comes Carol, an investigative reporter, who uncovers even more to this chilling story of a matchmaking business that is not all it seems. The characters have depth, and I engaged with each one of them, feeling connected to their minds, the mission, and their emotions. It's a mystery, crime/detective novel with unexpected twists and a very real, down-to-earth approach to uncovering a mystery. The story, with all its twists and turns, had me hooked until the very last page.

“Three determined women follow three strands which come together in a shocking revelation of amorality, greed and ruthlessness.”
