‘In Eden Cavalleri’s world, zoos don’t exist.
The Anthros do: a twisted place where cybernetics come to gawk at humans imprisoned behind glass.’
Humans vs. Machines (many who look almost human), with humans seemingly losing the battle - at times terrifying, at times inspiring. Amy Johnson pulls you into this dystopian world run by machines who strive to be as human as possible in their looks, movements, etc...everything that makes us human, minus human emotion. The machines conduct ruthless and violent tests on the humans they capture, all in an effort to advance their kind, and it is truly terrifying. This book reminded me of movies like Terminator and The Hunger Games - terrifying and violent, while also inspiring and even uplifting.
